What is the best business advice you’ve been given?
The best business advice I’ve ever received is that authenticity naturally filters the right people into our lives—both professionally and personally. Staying true to who we are is key to building meaningful connections and lasting success- that is the USP.
What problem does your business solve?
Our social enterprise is dedicated to tackling food waste in creative and impactful ways, closing the loop in the food cycle—from farm to packaging to wholesalers. We step in to bridge the waste gap by repurposing surplus food and resources. Beyond feeding people and catering events, we host educational workshops, engage in composting, and explore innovative solutions such as making toiletries, natural food dyes, chutneys, and jams. Every step we take is aimed at reducing waste and giving food a second life.
What woman do you most admire and why?
I admire true pioneers—those whose contributions have shaped society in meaningful ways, creating something that serves a purpose and is cherished by many. Some of the women I admire include Charlotte Despard, Elizabeth Braund of Providence Housem Empress Taytu Betul of Ethiopia, and my own grandmother.
What would you say to your 16-year-old self?
It will all pass.
How do you plan to accelerate action in 2025?
This year I’d like to concentrate even more effort into making connections with like-minded individuals. I would particularly like to focus on helping newcomers to the UK gain a sense of community and purpose. When I first moved here I was very lucky to have had people who welcomed me into the community and it played a large role in helping me feel at home in a new country. Now, I feel a responsibility to pay it forward—to be part of that butterfly effect and ensure my organisation becomes a welcoming space for those starting a new chapter in a new country.
